Gratitude and Karma
Scholastica Hicks, Rev. Master
I would like to share with you some thoughts on gratitude and karma.
It’s been coming up for me that karma is always here, and gratitude isn’t—I thought that distinction might be worth talking about. It occurred to me that at times our ordinary daily life can be so bleak that asking for help seems far beyond our reach. I think this is caused by fear, inadequacy, judgement and self-criticism which can seem bigger than we are. It occurred to me that maybe that’s where the term overwhelmed came from. Because sometimes we just feel overwhelmed and so the downward spiral continues and grows and grows until something happens. It’s that ‘something’ that I want to offer today.
